Karl Wilcock : Buisness director, and tutor
Karl established MASC in 2007 with the aim of providing a high quality, value for money music service. Karl has now grown the buisness into one of the most popular tution services in the city. With 35 Years music experience, Karl provides tuition in Guitar (electric, accoustc, bass), Piano, Drumming and Tuned Percussion. Karl also specialises in Music Theory, Harmony, Composition, Ear Training, Music Performance and Musicianship Skills.
Jamie Honhold : Tutor
Joining MASC as an apprentice 5 years ago , Jamie specialises in technique and improvisation and has been playing Guitar, Drums and Bass for the past 13 years .
He currently works within primary schools providing class based and one to one tuition.
As well as teaching Drums, Guitar, Bass and piano he is also involved in the workshops and production of shows.
Jamie has an extensive knowledge of music production, live sound, studio equipment and techniques. He is also a collector of guitars and music equipment and can provide help, support and recommendations to all of our students. When not at work Jamie can be found standing in and playing with local bands in the hull and east Yorkshire area.
Helen Richardson : Private Tutor
Helen started teaching at MASC in 2012 and has many years experience teaching and performing stringed instruments. Helen studied music at Hull University and currently teaches Violin, Viola, Piano and Music Theory.
Daniel Barker : Private Tutor
Daniel began learning piano with Karl Wilcock around the age of 9 yrs and progressed to Clarinet soon afterwards. He began his teaching career at the age of 15.
Daniel works as a primary school teacher as well as peripatetic and private tutor at MASC teaching Clarinet, Saxophone and Piano
Johnny Mennel : Private Tutor
New member of the team Johny has been performing guitar, and bass all over the UK since 2006.
He has taught guitar double-bass and bass guitar for a number of years. Along with performing and teaching he is currently studying for a music degree at Hull University.
Emily Tindall : Private Tutor
As an Operatic/Classical singer Emily has experience performing in a range of venues which include ‘The Ryedale Festival’, ‘The Birmingham Symphony Hall’, London O2 Arena and performing with International award-winning singer Marisa Johnson on her UK tour. Alongside performing, Emily had completed her BA in Music at the York St John University and has recently been accepted onto a master’s course at the University of York. Alongside her further education Emily provides private singing tuition in all genres, focusing on a healthy vocal technique which is beneficial to not only the aspiring classical musician but also to the aspiring pop/rock/musical theatre musician (and more!).
As well as providing singing tuition, Emily can also provide her students with musicianship skills and professional performance skills.
Amy Wilcock : Admin & Marketing
Having been part of the MASC journey since day one Amy now studies Media & Communications at Loughborough University. Amy remains an active part of the MASC team helping with all aspects of marketing and promotional work.
